We recently added the ability to offload the timestamp insertion function to any 3rd party application running on our Smart SFP.It significantly improves accuracy. Most of Smart SFP features such as Y.1564 Traffic Generator/Analyzer, Packet capture (ERSPAN), Smart Loopback L2-L4, TWAMP can also be used in Out-of-line mode as well as In-line.
Just recently we successfully installed non-standard RFTS - with just 1 unit of Smart SFP OTDR our customer can monitor 4 optical fibers.
